Mrs. Ernestine Melvin
Homegoing services for Mrs. Ernestine Melvin, 82, of Saluda, who departed this life Sunday, August 31, 2008, will be Saturday, September 6, at 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Saluda, with pastor Rev. Paul Pleasants officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The viewing will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at White-Tidewater Funeral Home, Jamaica. The family will assemble at the residence at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Mrs. Melvin is survived by six daughters, Judy Sutherlin (Stanley) of Williamsburg, Faye Roane of Newport News, Joyce Cooke (William) of Gloucester, Diane Burnett (Douglas) of Hampton, and Gayle White and Sandra Melvin, both of Richmond; five sisters, Lillian Washington, Minnie Hodges (Delvin), Eva Cook (Sidney), Mary Waller and Dorothy Johnson (William); one brother, Joseph Habersham; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
