Mary E. Frazier

Mary Emma “Granny” Frazier, 86, daughter of the late Hunter and Emma Anderson, departed this life on March 10, 2009 at Riverside Regional Hospital after a severe stroke.

She was baptized and joined Lebanon Baptist Church in Urbanna. She served faithfully as a member of the senior choir, as a missionary and as president of the Hospitality Committee.

She was educated in the Middlesex County School System. She was employed for many years by Christchurch School. After retirement, she worked as a domestic worker for several people.

She was married to the late Linwood M. Frazier.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hunter and Claudius; and five sisters, Della, Elenora, Ellen, Marguerite and Jane.

Survivors include one daughter, Corrine Young of Urbanna; one stepson, Thomas (Joan) Frazier of Philadelphia, Pa.; one sister, Marian Payne of Philadelphia; three brothers, Elwood and Arthur Anderson of Stone Harbor, N.J., and Raymond (Valeria) Anderson of Cape May, N.J.; three grandchildren, Bryant (Sharon), Gary and Janel; two step-grandchildren, Andre and Gail; three sisters-in-law, Olivia Ruffin, Angylett Kimble and Blanche Anderson; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well as one who is like a grandson, Derrick Scott.

The funeral was held March 15 at Lebanon Worship Center. Interment was in the church cemetery.
