Marion Fary Barnhardt, of Urbanna, born May 30, 1928, departed life Monday, August 16, 2010.
She graduated from Botetourt High School in 1945, and then from Longwood Teacher’s College in 1947. A teacher and then a co-owner of Barnhardt Duck farm, she will be best remembered as a compassionate lady and a very loving mother. Marion was married to the late James M. Barnhardt Jr. to which two daughters, Ann Harris and Cathy Jackson, and two sons, Jamie Barnhardt and William Barnhardt, were born. Marion was also a grandmother to 10 loving grandchildren. Lover of QVC and the giver of the best hugs ever, we will miss her.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, at Christ Church in Middlesex with interment following in the church cemetery. A reception will be held afterwards in the parish hall as a final celebration of Marion’s life. Memorial gifts may be made to Christ Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 476, Saluda, VA, 23149.
