LaTasha Nicole Scott, daughter of Diane Scott and Gary Cephas, was born September 12, 1993, at Rappahannock General Hospital, Kilmarnock. She departed this life at a young age on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester.
LaTasha confessed Jesus Christ as her savior. She was baptized and joined Immanuel Baptist Church in Saluda.
LaTasha was educated in the public schools of Middlesex County. She was attending Bluefield College in Bluefield, Va.
LaTasha loved and enjoyed playing basketball, running track, and cheerleading. She enjoyed working in the candy shop at Busch Gardens learning to make candy, at Aeropostale, and Wal-Mart. Her real love was family and people. She had this wonderful touch with little kids; they all just clung to her loving touch with her beautiful smile.
LaTasha leaves to cherish her devoted mother, Diane Scott of Williamsburg; father Gary Cephas of Yeadon, Pa.; brother, DaVonta Scott of Williamsburg; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Percell Scott Sr. of Saluda, Gloria Cephas of Philadelphia, Pa., and Edward Cephas of Philadelphia, Pa; great-grandmothers, Lena Kimble of Saluda, and Alice Jones of Philadelphia, Pa.; aunts, Renetta Scott of Urbanna, Tameka Moore of Philadelphia, Pa., Carla Cephas of Philadelphia, Pa.; Sherri Scott of Frederick, Md.; uncles, Percell Scott Jr. of Newport News, and Edward Cephas Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; great-aunts, Michelle Kimble, Beverlyn Bagby, Joan Strickland (Curt), Marion Taylor and Lisa Kimble, all of Saluda, Julia Hurst, Virginia Bernette, Edith Stokes all of Philadelphia, Pa., Eva Mae Scott of Plainfield, N.J., and Tatanaisha (Eva) Robinson of Washington, D.C; great-uncles, Tyrone Kimble (Tammy) and Cornell Kimble, both of Saluda. Toney Kimble (Charlene) of Richmond, Anthony Kimble of Urbanna, James Stokes and Fereinand Stokes (Cynthia), all of Philadelphia, Pa., Woodland Scott and Walter Scott (Jeanetta), all of Saluda, Morris Scott and Horace Scott of Plainfield, N.J.; great-great-aunt, Myrtin Armstead; a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles; special cousins (sister), Jasmine Fells, O’Shae Forrest, Tanicka Kimble, Courtney Kimble and Alexsus Burse; special cousins (brother), Trey Scott and Tyler Scott; special father figure, Bryant Barlow; and special uncle, Percell Scott Jr.
A funeral service was held Sunday, January 15, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Saluda with interment in the church cemetery.
