James L. Harris

He was a retired bridge and tunnel project manager for Modern Continental in Boston, Mass. He was a member of Lower United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran.
He was a graduate of Middlesex High School and a member of its first football team. “Big Jim” was a passionate outdoorsman and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a board member of the Conservation Club of Virginia.
He was predeceased by a nephew, James Nelson Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Page Harris; his daughter, Jill H. Shores (Larry, Jr.) of Urbanna; two sons, William A. Harris (Johnna) and John N. Harris of Hartfield; two brothers, William A. Harris of Hartfield and Paul N. Harris of Williamsburg; nephew, Robert Paul Harris of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Lt. Adrian P. Harris, USCG, of Boston, Mass., Jennifer Harris Miller (Bryan Allyn) of Hartfield, Stone and Taylor Grace Shores of Urbanna; and his beloved dog, Kate.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment will be in the Lower United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hartfield.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 27, at the funeral home. Memorial gifts can be made to the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 98, Deltaville, VA 23043.
