James E. Yarrington Sr.
James E. “Bill” Yarrington Sr., of Locust Hill passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 after a short illness. He was born June 25, 1921 at Warner in Middlesex County and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. 

He served an apprenticeship at N.A.C.A., which later became NASA, where he retired as an electronic instrument designer. Bill also attended many colleges in the U.S. and was one of the first to warn people about protecting the environment.  He was a State Certified Organic Inspector, and was an instructor at Rappahannock Community College. 

Bill was a past deacon and Sunday school teacher at Hermitage, Pine Chapel, Buckroe, York, New Hope and Harmony Grove Baptist churches. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorena; sons, James E. Yarrington Jr., and Lambert Tyler “L.T.” Yarrington; a daughter, Sandra Brinson and her husband Craig; and grandchildren, James E. Yarrington III, Lambert Tyler Yarrington Jr., Gerald Brinson, Nick Brinson and Grace Brinson. 

Funeral services will be held at 7 p,m, Saturday, July 31, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Harmony Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 138, Topping, VA 23169.
