Henry Shepherd Chowning

Henry Shepherd Chowning, 84, of Urbanna, co-owner of Nimcock Gallery, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 17, 2009. 

He was a WWII Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Blake Chowning; daughter, Susan Hoar (Wayne) of Williamsburg; son, Larry Chowning (Dee) of Urbanna; grandchildren, Tyler Hoar (Laura), Damon Chowning (Sarah), Cara Hoar, Peyton Blodgett (Jacob) and Hannah Gallup; and great-grandchildren, Michaela Chowning, Kasey Hoar and Caleb Chowning. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 19, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. Interment will be in Middlesex Memorial Cemetery, Urbanna. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 18, at the funeral home.
