Craig Martin Oxendine
Craig Martin Oxendine of Baker, W.Va., formerly of Middlesex, died April 24, 2009.
Born August 3, 1944 in Newport News, Mr. Oxendine graduated from York High School and was a veteran of the Air Force. He worked in many sales positions and was actively involved in his American Indian heritage, attending activities throughout the U.S. He had been a student of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous for 16 years.
Mr. Oxendine had made his life in Baker, W.Va., with his wife Deborah, where they enjoyed farming their land. Craig never met a stranger, loved everyone, enjoyed being with his family and friends, and helping his fellow man.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Deborah Sunshine Oxendine; son, Craig M. Oxendine Jr.; daughter, Aisha Oxendine; mother, Alice Healy Oxendine; brother, Keith A. Oxendine and wife Jeanette; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey A. Oxendine; sister, Pamela O, Scott; and brothers, Harvey Oxendine Jr. and Rodney Oxendine.
A candlelight service will be held Wednesday, April 29, at 8 p.m. at Forest Chapel Church, which is just off Route 17 on Forest Chapel Road in Warner.
