Charles Crowther “Chip” English

Charles Crowther “Chip” English, 54, of Heathsville passed away Monday, November 10, 2008. 

Interment in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery took place on Thursday, November 13. 

Mr. English was a devoted and loving husband, son and father. His passions were family and farming. He enjoyed bowling, softball and coaching Little League. He was an animal lover, but especially adored his pets.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy English; his son, Charles “Benner” English; his daughter, Alexandra Lee English; and his mother, Ida V. Crowther English. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles B. English, former sheriff of Westmoreland County; and a grandmother-in-law, Nancy Gathright Harrow.

Other survivors include his mother-in-law in Deltaville, Doris Harrow Owens, and her husband Grover; father-in-law, Billy Norton, and his wife Marsha of Deltaville; grandmother-in-law, Cathleen Norton of Deltaville; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Schmalenberger and her husband Ken of Deltaville, and Christy Crump of Hardyville.

Mr. English was proud of his two nieces and three nephews, Whitney Stocks and her husband Kevin of Mechanicsville; Kendall Schmalenberger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Wesley, Scott and Travis Crump, all of Hardyville.
