Agnes F.G. Miles
Agnes Frances Goldman Miles of Saluda departed this life on July 16, 2008 at Mizpah Convalescent Center in Locust Hill.
She was born in Saluda in 1934 to James S. Goldman and Agnes T. Roane Goldman.
She joined Antioch Baptist Church in Saluda at an early age. She attended Middlesex County Public Schools, including former St. Clare Walker High School. As a child she loved drawing and art.
In 1955 she married Samuel Miles and they were blessed with five children. She devoted her life and love to her family.
For many years she enjoyed her job at the Famous French Art Galleries, working around the art that she loved. Later in life, she worked at various custodial and housekeeping jobs.
She was predeceased by her parents and two bothers, James A. Goldman and George R. Goldman.
Survivors include her husband and five children, Samuel Edward Miles of Silver Spring, Md., Alice A. Miles of Irvington, George W. Miles (Sharon) of Lackey, Milton D. Miles of Saluda, and Barbara A. Miles of Woodbridge; one sister, Dorothy Carter and her husband Wiley; a special niece and “little sister,” Katherine G. Manning and her husband Roscoe; one sister-in-law, Martha M. Waller of Philadelphia, Pa.; three grandchildren, Licia M. Dandridge of Lively, and Eric T. Miles and Sidney N. Miles of Lackey; four great-grandchildren, Tremaine Dandridge, Tyron Dandridge, Bryanna Crabbe and Kiera Coleman, who truly lighted her life; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Monday at Antioch Baptist Church, Saluda, with interment in the church cemetery.
