Nettie C. Burrell
Nettie Christine Burrell, of Ardmore, Pa., one of 12 children born to Eddie and Mildred Hundley on Feb. 24, 1925 in Butylo, passed away on April 28, 2010 after a long illness. A funeral service was held May 4 at Memorial Church of God in Christ, Haverford, Pa., and interment was at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, Pa.

Vernon Edward Simmons, 58, of Laneview, a beloved man, died Thursday, August 19, 2010. The viewing will be at noon on Tuesday, August 24, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glebe Landing Baptist Church Cemetery, Laneview.

Glen Ingram Matthews of Topping passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 after a very brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 26, 1953, son of the late Lake S. and Margaret Jones Matthews of Topping.

Stuart served as an Army infantryman during WWII and was a POW in Germany. After the war, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in Germany and all over the United States. He retired in June 1965 as Technical Sgt. He then worked for RF&P Railroad for 14 years and in 1984 retired again, just prior to moving to Deltaville.
