At age 20 in 1943, Mrs. Orange became the first female flight instructor in the Richmond/Tidewater area. She was also the first female president of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society.

She was predeceased by her only sibling, Frances White Snead of Point of Fork, Va., and an adored daughter, Nell Elizabeth (Betsy) Paret Wilkinson of Manakin Sabot, as well as a special grandson, Matthew (Matty) Wayne Paret of Camden Wyoming, Del.

She is survived by her husband, George Linwood; three sons, Anthony, Jeffrey and Craig; one daughter, Rochelle J.
