Bruno J. Tassone, 82, entered the light on Tuesday afternoon, April 21, at his home in Hartfield. Born September 6, 1926, in North Providence, R.I., this son of the late Bruno and Michelina Tassone was a distinguished US Army Veteran of the Pacific Theater in World War II.

Edna P.L. Reid
Edna Pearl Lemon Reid of Glenns died Saturday, April 18, 2009. She was the beloved mother of Ernest Reid (Catherine), William Reid (Mary), Gloria Holmes (William), Hazel Bailey (Samuel), Stella Reid and Earl Reid (Lonzie). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Charles S. “Chuck” Ylonen, 80, of Hartfield, formerly of Providence Forge, president and owner of Chuck’s Supermarkets, passed away April 6, 2009. Funeral services were held April 8 at Woody Funeral Home in Richmond. Interment was private.

Angela Markeena Hammond Pair, 43, of Urbanna, departed this life Thursday, April 9, 2009. A funeral service was held Monday at Union Hope Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Francis H. Slaughter
Francis Hugh Slaughter, 65, of Lakeside, formerly of Middlesex, a retired employee of Sears Roebuck passed away April 3, 2009. A memorial service was held at North Run Baptist Church in Richmond on April 7, with Chaplain Carl Netting officiating.
