John P.D. Kauffman
John Phillip Derr Kauffman, a resident of Darien for over 55 years, died peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his home. Born on December 16, 1919 in Williamsport, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Isabel Kauffman.

Phyliss A. Bristow of Richmond, born October 19, 1955, and a native of Middlesex County, went to be with her Heavenly Father and her beloved mother, Florence R. Boone, on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

Harrison L. Leach
Harry was born in Fayetteville, Ga., on May 7, 1923. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was a Navy pilot, one of the youngest in WWII. He flew torpedo bombers off a carrier in the North Atlantic. He was later a flight instructor during the Korean Conflict.

Josephine Miller Major, 87, of Stormont, widow of J. Hubert Major Sr., died Wednesday, June 27, 2012. She was a member of Saluda Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.

Mary Katherine Novak of Middlesex passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2012. She is survived by her mother, Maxine Slaughter; sisters, Patricia Martin and Lisa Stover; brother, Charles Slaughter; son, Brian Robertson; daughter Kimberly Lederer; and two grandchildren, Gabriella Lederer and Victoria Lederer.
