Willard J. “Rock” Council, 54, of Deltaville, formerly of Chesterfield, died Friday March 16, at his home. He was owner of W.J. Council Contracting and co-owner of The Crabby Couple Gift Shop in Deltaville. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lou Council; his father, Willard Lee Council, and sister, Julia Marie Council, both of Chesterfield.

Howard W. “Bill” Duncan, 70, of Saluda, a retired furniture maker died Wednesday March 14, 2012. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran. He is survived by his wife, Judy Duncan; a son, Eric Messer (Sara) of Chicago, IL, and a brother, George Dungan (Jean) of Montpelier. Bill was a stranger to no one and loved by all.

Funeral services for Pearl Burse Williams of Baltimore, Md., who passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 will be held on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. at Escobrook Baptist Church, Mascot, with Rev. Arthur K. Roane, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The viewing will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Cuthbert “Cuffy” Bristow Jr., 80, of Galloway, N.J., died on March 8, 2012 at home after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Bristow was born in Urbanna on November 24, 1931 and was the son of the late Cuthbert and Marie Potts Bristow.
