Harry was born in Fayetteville, Ga., on May 7, 1923. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was a Navy pilot, one of the youngest in WWII. He flew torpedo bombers off a carrier in the North Atlantic. He was later a flight instructor during the Korean Conflict.
