It is with great sadness that the family of William “Bill” Donald LeCompte announces his passing. Mr. LeCompte, 73, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo of natural causes. He was born April 29, 1938, in Urbanna.

Fay M. Bray, 76, of Urbanna, widower of Edna Mae Bray, died Monday, April 16, 2012. He was a member of Urbanna Baptist Church and a retired VDOT employee. Fay was an Army Veteran, an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

George H. Northam Jr., 77, passed away at his home at Gloucester Point on Monday, April 16, 2012 with his family by his side. Born on October 20, 1934, George grew up in Church View. He graduated from Middlesex High School and attended Richmond Professional Institute in Richmond. He served three years in the Army Air Defense System.

Perry B. Yarrington, 83, died April 11, 2012. He is survived by Mary Jane (Williams) Yarrington, his wife of 63 years; and his three children and their spouses, Robert Brantley and Mary Yarrington, Charlotte (Yarrington) and Michael Ball, and Michael and Linda Yarrington. He was the beloved grandfather of seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

William M. Bristow, 73, of Saluda, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012. He was a U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and a former Merchant Seaman. He is survived by his wife, Susie W. Bristow; four children, Randy Bristow (Becky), Wanda Pruett, Michael Bristow and Chele-Marie Allen; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Robert Mather French, born in Middlesex County on September 2, 1921 to Robert and Bessie French, passed away on April 5, 2012. After graduating from Syringa High School, Mr. French enlisted in the Army and served overseas for four years during World War II. He was owner of Famous French Galleries in Saluda for many years.
