Nettie M. Williams
Nettie Marie Williams Mayo, 68, of Deltaville passed away on September 9, 2011. She retired as an operator for Colonial Williamsburg. She also was the secretary for Middlesex High School from 1979 to 1986. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert W. Ahrens
Robert W. Ahrens, 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Leesburg with his family by his side. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 21, 1935 to the late John H. Ahrens and Mary S. Ahrens. He attended the University of Virginia and graduated with a degree in law. He moved to Leesburg in 1963 where he practiced law for 26 years.

Gene L. Paulette
imageFormer banking and insurance executive Gene Paulette, 84, of Urbanna passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Gloucester. Born in Charlotte County on May 12, 1927, he was the son of Wilson Lynn Paulette and Corinne Tucker Paulette.

Former Urbanna mayor, Ken Moore, dies at age 68
Kenneth A. Moore, 68, of Urbanna passed away at home on September 3, 2011, after a challenging battle with pancreatic cancer. Mr. Moore moved to Urbanna in 1998 and in 2002 was elected to the Urbanna Town Council and subsequently served five years as mayor.

Lois R. White
imageLois Reed White, 86, of Deltaville, formerly of Chesterfield, departed this life to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 5, 2011. Mrs. White was born October 18, 1924, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Beverley White Sr.; and a son, John Beverley White Jr.

George J. Blevins
imageGeorge J. Blevins of Hartfield, died peacefully in his home with family by his side. He was born July 11, 1922 in Big Stone Gap. He was a member of Lower United Methodist Church, Norview Masonic Lodge and the Fleet Reserve. George was a Navy veteran of WWII and was a Japanese POW captured on Corregidor.
