J. Roland Longest II
Roland served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked at Chesapeake Corporation for 29½ years in the forestry department. He volunteered for the Central King & Queen Fire Department for over 20 years. Roland enjoyed his time spent farming and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Floyd Waverly Jones of Remlik died at the age of 87 on Friday, September 23, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on January 12, 1924, to the late Floyd Eugene Jones and Ruby Ferguson Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Lorraine Norwood, and brothers, Howard F. Jones and David L. Jones Sr.

Nettie Marie Williams Mayo, 68, of Deltaville passed away on September 9, 2011. She retired as an operator for Colonial Williamsburg. She also was the secretary for Middlesex High School from 1979 to 1986. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert W. Ahrens, 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Leesburg with his family by his side. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 21, 1935 to the late John H. Ahrens and Mary S. Ahrens. He attended the University of Virginia and graduated with a degree in law. He moved to Leesburg in 1963 where he practiced law for 26 years.
