Earnest “Buck” Bristow Sr., 67, of Topping passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Josephine Bristow; a daughter, Annette Grant; sons, Earnest L. Bristow Jr. and Elvis L. Bristow; seven grandchildren; and six siblings.

E.M. “Jack” Jackson, 81, of Lancaster died Thursday, April 8, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Linthicum Jackson; parents, Tollie and Mildred Jackson; and a sister, Hope J. Kellum.

Petronelle Ogden
Petronelle Mary Stewart “Pat” Ogden was born in Essex County, England, on Aug. 24, 1924; served in the Wrens, the women’s arm of the Royal Navy, during World War II; and worked in New York at Town Hall as a production assistant for the Town Meeting of the Air, a leading national and international public affairs radio show.

Virginia E.D. Goss
Mrs. Goss was born November 25, 1916, in Arlington County to David Malcolm and Adelia Fought Davis and moved to White Stone in 1923. A graduate of White Stone High School, she was graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s and a master’s in horticulture. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.

James T. Smith
James T. Smith was born in Mathews County on Nov. 7, 1925. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was later employed by the Newport News Shipyard and Dry Dock Company, retiring with 31 years of service.
