Edwin M. Andrews III
Edwin Magruder (Ned) Andrews III departed this life on April 21, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. Ned was born in Richmond on June 2, 1940, but lived in Denver, N.C., for the past 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin M and Virginia Kennedy Andrews.

Bill "William" Brill, 79, of Durham, N.C., longtime sports writer, editor and columnist, died April 10, 2011 after a battle with esophageal and liver cancer. A longtime Duke sports historian, Mr. Brill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane Shaw Brill; and his sister, Cassie Brill, of Deltaville.

Harvey Rowe Griffith, 75, of Cobbs Creek passed away on March 30, 2011 after a long struggle with asbestosis and diabetes. He was born and raised in the Fox Hill area of Hampton, moving to the Cobbs Creek area of Mathews County in June 1970.
