Helen Cecil Key, of Topping, originally from Bon Air, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 22, 2010. She was a member of Bon Air United Methodist Church. She served as an auditor for A&P Tea Company for 40 years.

John Melvin Ward Sr.
imageJohn Melvin Ward Sr., 84, of Deltaville and Urbanna died Monday, November 15, 2010 after a long illness. Known to all as Melvin, he was a lifelong Chesapeake Bay buyboat captain of the “Ward. Bros.” and the grain vessel “Chief.”

Joseph Allen "Joe" Richardson, 84, of Powhatan, passed away November 12, 2010. Joe was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and 345 AF&AM Masonic Lodge since 1949, the Powhatan Chamber of Commerce, and the Navy League Council of Richmond.

imageElaine Long Berry, 65, of Urbanna left this earthly world on November 11, 2010 after a long illness. She lived for many years in Virginia Beach until settling in Urbanna where she was instrumental in founding the Middlesex Art Guild.

Calvin F. Major
Calvin Flood Major, 84, of Richmond and Deltaville died November 4, 2010. He was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., and sailed as a Midshipman cadet in World War II and served in the Navy in the Korean War.
