Lorena Harrow Yarrington, 88, of Locust Hill, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Lorena worked in her father's store with her two sisters and completed business school. She worked as a telephone operator at the VA, and was a bookkeeper and a store manager for Norview Marina.

William "Cotton" Ryland Jessie Sr., 89 of Deltaville passed away on January 6, 2013. Mr. Jessie was a lifelong farmer, avid hunter and the former owner of W.R. Jessie Sr. & Sons Marine Contractors, constructing many of the earliest docks and seawalls in the area.

Bernice C. Dunn, 96, of Fairfax, died December 27, 2012 at the Fairfax Nursing Center, Fairfax. She was born Mary Bernice Carlton in King and Queen County, a daughter of J. Wirtley and Josephine B. Carlton. She resided in Newport News from 1941-1979, and then in Gloucester County until 2004 when she made her home with her daughter in Fairfax.
