Woman dies in single-car crash

On Saturday, January 6, the Virginia State Police investigated a single-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a 29-year-old Deltaville woman.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:49 a.m. in Deltaville. According to State Police, a 2008 Suzuki SX4 was leaving Deltaville and westbound on Route 33. Near Crittenden Road the vehicle, which was traveling too fast for weather and road conditions, hit a patch of ice and ran off the roadway into a ditch. The vehicle overturned and the driver was ejected from the SUV. The driver, Katherine Monique Pinzone of the 16700 block of General Puller Highway in Deltaville, was taken to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
