‘Wings, Wheels & Keels’ is Saturday
An expanded display of antique boats is planned for “Wings & Wheels,” which is now “Wings, Wheels & Keels,” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, at Hummel Field in Topping.
“The number of boats has grown so much that we decided to change the name of the show to Wings, Wheels & Keels,” said Jamie Barnhardt, show coordinator.
Bluegrass music is returning this year and there will be antique airplanes and antique motor vehicles on display.
Vehicles from several decades will be lined up for visitors to see.
Also on the program are aviation exhibits, arts and crafts, and a food court with two local oyster companies selling oysters prepared in different ways.
The runway will be shut down shortly after lunch in preparation for an antique firetruck parade, and a model aircraft show complete with miniature jet aircraft.
At least five helicopters will be on display along with a variety of fixed-wing aircraft, some from WWII.
A drug and bomb sniffing dog from the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) will show his keen sense of smell, and an MSO attack dog will perform.
There will be ample activities for the young ones at the children’s carnival.
The show will be held rain or shine at Hummel Field in Topping.
Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. after the air show.
