Virginia Municipal League honors town administrator

by Tom Chillemi

Urbanna Town Administrator Holly Gailey received an Individual Risk Management Excellence Award from the Virginia Municipal League (VML) Insurance Program.

Nora Pierre of the VML said Gailey earned the award “by showing tremendous dedication to risk management within the Town of Urbanna.”

During the award ceremony in May, Nora Pierre said Gailey “has been instrumental in implementing safety and budget savings for the town since she joined the town. She takes advantage of all of the resources and services that Virginia Municipal League Insurance Plan (VMLIP) has to offer to ensure the town is getting the best out of their membership.”

Pierre added, “She is hands-on, and no job is too small or too big for her to handle. She consults VMLIP whenever she has questions regarding a contract or how something could impact the town from a risk management perspective.”

Each year Risk Management Performance Awards are presented to VML members who have been selected based on their loss ratio over a five-year period, achieving 100 percent completion of risk management guidelines applicable to their tier, and proactive effort towards reaching their risk management goals.
