Urbanna Road home destroyed
Fire consumed the home of Randolph and Gloria Lane on Urbanna Road (Rt. 227) on Tuesday. An adult male and juvenile were home when the fire started about 6 p.m. and escaped unharmed. Firefighters from Urbanna, Water View and Hartfield responded as did the Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad and Ladies Auxiliary of Urbanna. Urbanna Road was blocked for about three hours until emergency crews cleared the scene.
River Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross gave assistance and support to the family of 4 adults and 3 children.
