Urbanna man charged with recent break-in
An Urbanna man was arrested hours after he allegedly broke into the Urbanna Auction Company and stole several items, reported the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office this week.
Desean Monrese Byrd, 23, is charged with breaking into the Rappahannock Ave. business during the evening of May 29 or the early morning of May 30. The suspect allegedly tried to sell some of the items in another county the same day.
Byrd is charged with 2 felonies: entering in the night time Urbanna Auction Company; and larceny of more than $200.
He also is charged with 2 misdemeanors for larceny of items valued at less than $200; and possession of stolen goods.
He is free on bond and awaiting a court date.
In unrelated matters, police are investigating the vandalism at S&K Upholstery Shop on Cross Street and at a nearby house, which occurred last week.
Police are also investigating break-ins at Nimcock Gallery, which was broken into twice; and a break-in at Nearly New Thrift Shop.
