Urbanna Farmers Market set for Saturday

This time of the summer fresh produce is at its best. Home-grown tomatoes, string beans, squash, sweet corn, peaches and melons just within perfection… these are the treasured garden bounties we wait for each year and are for our choosing every second Saturday in the season at the Urbanna Farmers Market.

This Saturday, August 11, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Taber Park, vendors will display their home-grown best for us to buy, enjoy and share at home. Selections are tallied on old-fashioned weighing scales that hang from the backs of trucks and an occasional tree branch while customers eye other items displayed around the park.

Chip in for the 50-50 draw for a chance to split the pot with the Urbanna Business Association which sponsors the market. It’s all good and it’s fun.

Don’t forget, there’s always time to buy a space at the park as a vendor. For information, call 804-725-8506.
