Urbanna approves new capital improvement plan

by Tom Chillemi

The Urbanna Town Council Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is a guide for major projects that have a long life span.

Being listed on the CIP does not guarantee funding. However, the plan lists anticipated expenses, and some projects have been funded, at least in part.

On June 26, council unanimously approved the 2018 CIP.

The 2018-19 budget contains about $40,000 for funding for two projects in the CIP. They include $15,000 for further renovations to the town hall interior and $25,000 for the Urbanna Museum and Visitors Center to repair mortar cracks due to settling of the 350-year-old building.
