Two juveniles charged with theft of golf carts
Two juveniles have been charged with multiple felonies in connection with alleged thefts of golf carts, reported Major M.E. Sampson of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.
According to Major Sampson, before dawn on Sunday, August 18, two teens took 4 golf carts from Bethpage Camp-Resort, which is located just west of Urbanna.
Middlesex deputies detained and interviewed two suspects. Later in the day, juvenile petitions were obtained charging the suspects.
Both juveniles were transported to a juvenile detention facility. One of them was released, but the other juvenile was still in custody on Tuesday, August 27, pending arraignment in Middlesex Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on August 28.
Major Sampson said both juveniles are facing 4 charges of grand larceny, and a charge of felony destruction of property. In addition, they both are charged with underage possession of alcohol and vandalism to golf carts.
