Two county seats contested on Middlesex ballot
The ballot is set for the Middlesex County election on Tuesday, November 3. The deadline to file the necessary papers was June 9.
Two seats on the Middlesex Board of Supervisors and two seats on the Middlesex School Board will be on the ballot.
There are two contested offices on the ballot. One is for supervisor in Saluda District. Robert A. Crump of Topping is seeking re-election, and will be challenged by Peter W. “Pete” Mansfield of Urbanna.
The other contested office is for a school board seat from Pinetop District. James Goforth of Hartfield is seeking re-election and will be opposed by Garland Harrow of Deltaville.
Running unopposed for a Pinetop District seat on the board of supervisors is Carlton S. Revere of Hartfield. Current supervisor Kenneth W. Williams is not seeking re-election.
Dr. Richard J. Shores, a Saluda District school board member, is seeking re-election and is unopposed.
The correct polling places in the Pinetop District are the Middlesex YMCA or the Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad Building—not the Deltaville Firehouse as listed in last week’s Sentinel.
