Town election set for Tuesday
Town of Urbanna voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 4, to choose a mayor and six council members. All terms are for two years.
Only the mayor’s position is being contested. Two members of town council are running for mayor—Donald B. Richwine and Janet Suzon Smith.
Six candidates are running for the six town council seats and include current council members Lee D. Chewning, Bill J. Thrift, Joan S. Ward and Richard C. Donoff.
Other council candidates are town administrator Lewis Filling and Joe Heyman.
Current mayor Beatrice Taylor is not seeking re-election.
The polls at the Urbanna Firehouse will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters should bring identification.
