Tappahannock woman killed in car crash
A Tappahannock woman died in a two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:54 p.m., on Saturday, May 4, on Route 360 at Route 619 in Essex County, according to the Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred when the driver of a 2005 Ford Taurus failed to yield the right-of-way and was struck by the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu. The Ford was traveling southbound on Route 619 and the Chevrolet was traveling westbound on Route 360 at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Ford, Angela N. Dancy, 42, of Bowlers Road in Tappahannock, died at the scene. The victim’s 6-year-old daughter, who was a passenger, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center. The driver was wearing a safety belt and the passenger was in a child safety seat.
The driver of the Chevrolet and a passenger, both of Millers Tavern, were injured in the crash and were both transported by ambulance to Riverside Regional Medical Center. The driver was wearing her safety belt. The passenger was not wearing a safety belt.
