State to consider proposed sewage permit Monday

The discharge permit for the proposed Saluda sewage treatment plant will be considered by the State Water Control Board (SWCB) on Monday, October 26, in House Room C of the General Assembly Building at 9th and Broad streets in Richmond. The meeting is at 9:30 a.m.

“The Middlesex permit is one of the first items on the agenda, so I would expect it would be considered on October 26,” wrote Cindy M. Berndt, director of regulatory affairs for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

The agenda is subject to change, Berndt wrote. If the agenda is changed before the meeting, a revised agenda will be posted on the DEQ website.

Only those who spoke or submitted letters during the initial public hearing last winter may address the SWCB. Those individuals are being notified that they have 3 minutes to speak.
