National Hospital Week was observed May 10-16. Festivities occurred each day that week at Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock.
On Tuesday, during the Employee Appreciation Reception, the administration recognized two employees for being the “Employee of the Year.” Trinia Timberlake, RN, case management, and Christina Moore, technologist assistant, radiology were the two recipients.
Timberlake and her husband Jerry have one son, Jarett, age 12. Her hobbies include walking, reading, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She is a member of Fairport Baptist Church.
Timberlake graduated from J. Sargent Reynolds Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She has worked at RGH for 23 years as a registered nurse on the medical surgical unit, operating room and case management department, where she currently works.
The nomination comments included: “Trinia is the consummate professional who is well respected by her superiors, highly thought of by her peers, looked up to by subordinates. Her integrity is impeccable; she works well with everyone and is a model nurse to emulate. Trinia is a team player. Honest, supportive, committed, thorough, and dedicated—are just a few of the many adjectives that can be used to describe her. She gets the job done, whatever it is, and sees it to the end. . . .”
Christina Moore and her husband Steven have one daughter, Kayla, age 9. Her hobbies include Nascar racing (Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson fan), listening to music, playing with her animals (Jasmine, Emma, Crystal, Blackey, Princess and Jo-Jo), taking walks with her daughter, and making custom jewelry.
Moore works in the Radiology Department and has been an employee at RGH for 12 years.
The nomination comments included: “Christina is always willing to go the extra mile with a smile on her face. She is consistently hard working, and does her job well while helping anyone who needs it. Her caring attitude comes across to everyone that she meets. I believe this award should go to her because she always goes above and beyond. . . .”
RGH President/CEO James M. Holmes Jr. said that “these are two of the many outstanding employees that we have at the hospital and we are fortunate to have such loyal and dedicated employees within our organization.”
Holmes thanked everyone for their “years of service and excellent patient care that is provided to our patients.”
