Progress continues on the 3-bay addition to the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department in Urbanna.
Also continuing is a building fund drive so the addition can be paid off as soon as possible.
Citizens can pay directly for some parts of the building and have their donation made in honor or memory of someone, explained Keith Townsend, fund drive director.
A donation of $25 will purchase one brick. A plaque naming all who donated to the bricks for the wall will be erected on the interior wall.
A $250 donation will pay for a window. The donor will have a memorial or honorary plaque attached to the window.
A $1,250 donation in memory or honor of someone will pay for one of four front entrance doors that will have a plaque attached showing who donated and for whom.
The 14-foot roll-up doors will cost $6,500 each and a donor’s plaque will be attached.
Donations may be mailed to MVFD, Attn: Keith, P.O. Box 71, Urbanna, VA, 23175. For more information, contact Townsend at 804-695-4189.
