Police Unity Tour

image
On Wednesday, May 10, the Police Unity Tour of Virginia stopped on the Newman Bridge over Urbanna Creek to remember Lt. Robert T. Hicks, a Middlesex chief deputy who died in the line of duty in 1984 when his patrol car went off the bridge. The police bicyclists rode through Urbanna on their way to Washington, D.C., where the tour concluded with a candlelight vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial at Judiciary Square.
