Planners hearings on solar setback, campground tonight

The Middlesex Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. on a proposed zoning amendment regarding solar energy facilities that would allow an applicant to request through the special exception process a waiver to the 1,000-foot setback requirement from primary highways to a setback of 200 feet.

The zoning ordinance amendment request is initiated by Brian M. Major, and would involve areas zoned Village Community and General Business.

The amendment request would also deal with changes to fencing, setback landscaping and screening requirements, as well as maximum lot coverage.
