Norris Bridge lane closings to continue
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) began inspection of the Robert O. Norris Bridge on February 4 and will continue through the week of March 4.
During the first week, crews inspected the bridge piers and spans that can be accessed from the water. There were no lane closures associated with this phase of the inspection.
Beginning Monday, February 11, motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge while the inspections continue. Crews will work Monday through Friday, daylight to dusk each day. The inspections are expected to be complete during the week of March 4.
Motorists should expect delays in the work zone.
The bridge is located on Route 3 over the Rappahannock River between White Stone and Topping.
