Nokesville man’s death believed accidental or from natural causes

A 44-year-old unconscious man was pullled from the lake at Bethpage Camp-Resort near Urbanna on Saturday about 4 p.m., said a spokesman for the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.

The Nokesville man had last been seen swimming in the lake when a child noticed he was missing, reported the E-911 caller at 3:58 p.m.

A member of the Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad of Urbanna arrived on the scene within 5 minutes and began CPR.

Rescue workers continued CPR while the man was transported by ambulance to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, where he died.

His death is believed to be from accidental or natural causes, and an autopsy will be performed, said the sheriff’s office.
