Moose step up to help children of murder victim

Early this year a young woman, Terri Lynn St. John of Middlesex County, was murdered. She was the mother of two very young children.

The Middlesex Moose Legion started a college scholarship fund for her children that can be used when they reach the age of 18 or attend college. Middlesex Moose Lodge donated over $800.

Lodge member Aubrey D. Pilkerton sent a letter to the men and women of the Virginia Moose lodges and explained the St. John story, and with the lodges’ very generous donations, a total of over $8,500 was reached.

“This might not help them now, but will help them in the future to start them on a road to success in their young lives,” said Pilkerton.

If anyone would like to help with donations, make your check payable to the Middlesex Moose Legion earmarked for the St. John Children’s Fund and send it to Middlesex Moose Legion, P.O. Box 411, Hartfield, VA 23071.
