Local non-profits to participate in the Amazing Raise

Bay Aging, the Red Cross, the Rappahannock Art League and many other local local non-profits are trying to benefit from The Amazing Raise, a 36-hour online donation marathon sponsored by the Richmond Community Foundation.

In addition to the regular online giving, Bay Aging is going for the 50/50 Challenge to be one of the first 15 organizations to receive donations of $50 or more from 50 unique donors to receive a prize of $2,500! Each unique donor represents one gift of $50 or more from one individual or business.

The goal, to raise as much money as possible in this short amount of time, will directly benefit the people of the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck who need services. For Bay Aging that means it can give adult day care scholarships for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease, repair leaking roofs on seniors’ homes, volunteers can deliver nutritious meals to the homebound frail and seniors, fill up heating fuel tanks for seniors so they can stay warm during this winter, give veterans access to transportation to VA health care centers, and so much more.

The Amazing Raise will take place between 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, and 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.  For more information on The Amazing Raise, visit http://www.bayaging.org or http://www.giverichmond.org.
