Detective C.B. Sibley of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office recovered five firearms while executing a search warrant in Locust Hill on December 13, according to a court document.
Det. Sibley was assisting the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office on another matter when the guns were found at the residence of Arnold Wayne Whitworth, 33, who was living in the 8000 block of General Puller Highway (Route 33).
Whitworth has been charged in Middlesex with a felony for possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond.
Det. Sibley recovered four firearms in Whitworth’s bedroom and a gun from the glove box of the vehicle Whitworth drove to the residence, according to the criminal complaint. The firearms include a shotgun, a high-powered rifle, two pistols and another rifle.
The complaint further states that Whitworth was previously convicted of felony possession of stolen goods in North Carolina.
