Fundraising concert is Saturday in Deltaville

Four local music groups will take the stage this Saturday, September 1, on the field at Deltaville Ballpark, contributing their talent to an important local cause.

Southern rock band “Rip Tide,” reggae ensemble “Stuck On A Name,” original country group “The Hobo Mariners,” and the easy listening father-daughter duo “Something Different” will perform live, all to benefit the handicap accessibility renovations at the ballpark.

The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. with Something Different, followed by The Hobo Mariners at 6 p.m., Stuck On A Name at 7:15 p.m., and Rip Tide will rock out as the sun sets from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $10 at the gate, and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and coolers. Food trucks will be on site as well. In the event of evening showers, the covered grandstand will be open to concert-goers.

All proceeds from the concert will go toward the ongoing renovation of Deltaville Ballpark, with the next major milestone centering on making the facility handicap accessible. The next phase of renovations will include a ramp into the grandstand and new ADA-compliant restrooms. The event is sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth Bank.
