‘Fillmore Duo’to begin U.S. concert tour

The “Fillmore Duo” is Phil Walker and Morgan Stewart

by Tom Chillemi

Many dream of a career in music. “Fillmore Duo” turned thought into action.

With the recent release of original songs on their EP “Soul Love Sexy,” the high energy, soulful couple will embark on an eight-night tour headlining at venues in Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Austin, Atlanta and Norfolk.

On March 14, Fillmore Duo will be at Town Point Club in Norfolk.

The Fillmore Duo is Phil Walker and Morgan Stewart. Morgan grew up in Urbanna. Both have extensive musical backgrounds and formed Fillmore about 5 years ago. “We have always talked about ‘when we tour’ and one night we just realized that we were talking too much and not doing anything,” Morgan explained.

So about a year ago they set a course and started planning a route and reached out to venues. “Now we’re there with a fully-booked tour and an amazingly supportive fan base. We are really excited to see what comes of this!” said Morgan.

Fillmore Duo’s EP of original songs includes “Hands Up,” a song about unity. “Truth” is a song about not running from your problems and facing reality. “Weight” is about holding your partners emotional baggage. The title track, “Soul Love Sexy,” is about loving yourself before you can love anyone else.
