Eleven indicted on drug charges

A Middlesex Circuit Court grand jury handed down 21 felony charges against 11 people via direct indictments on June 18, 2009, reported Middlesex Sheriff Guy Abbott. 

The indictments and arrests are the result of a lengthy investigation that is still ongoing, said Sheriff Abbott. Investigators and deputies from the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office worked with the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force on the cases, he added.

Christine Belmore, 37, incarcerated at Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center (MPRSC), was arrested June 18 and charged with three counts of selling imitation Schedule I/II drugs.

Jessica Ann Billups, 27, of Hartfield was arrested June 19 and charged with two counts of possession, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance.

Sonia Wright, 33, of Hartfield was arrested June 22 and charged with four counts of possession, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance.

Marcus Darnell Stokes, 26, of Saluda was arrested June 23 and charged with two counts of possession, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance.

Dwayne Montel Thomas, 21, incarcerated at the Mecklenburg State Penitentiary, was arrested on three counts of possession, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance June 23.

Reodell Lamonte Bryant Sr., 37, of Locust Hill was arrested June 23 for felony possession of marijuana.

Zachary Gates Munson, 18, of Deltaville was arrested June 23 for possession, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance. He also was served with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for brandishing a firearm in an earlier unrelated incident.

Emmet Willis Lounsbury II, 55, of Topping was arrested June 22 for possession, sale or manufacture of a controlled substance.

Kory Cottrill Rowe, 22, of Urbanna was arrested June 22 for two counts of delivering prohibited items to a prisoner at the MPRSC.

Shawn Damian Jensen, 34, of Hartfield was arrested June 22 and charged with delivering prohibited items to a prisoner at the MPRSC.

The last indictment to be served has been sent out for service in another county.
