Crump files for supervisor election

Robert A. Crump has completed all the necessary paperwork and is now a qualified candidate to run in the special election for the Harmony Village District seat on the Middlesex Board of Supervisors (BOS), reported Melissa D. Welch, Middlesex County and General Registrar.

Crump, a former BOS member, is the second person to file as a candidate in the special election set for November 6, 2018. Kathy H. Swinehart completed the necessary paperwork earlier and is the only other candidate as of this week.

The Middlesex Circuit Court ordered the special election for the Harmony Village District seat on the BOS due to the death of Jack Miller, who held the seat until February 19, 2018.

On March 6, the BOS appointed Swinehart as interim supervisor to fill Miller’s seat. Swinehart will serve until the voters of Harmony Village District elect someone in the special 2018 election this November. The supervisor-elect will take office immediately after the Middlesex Electoral Board certifies the special election results, and is sworn in.

The winner of the Harmony Village District Special Election will serve through December 31, 2019.
