Court motion against condo developer

The Urbanna Town Council’s motion for sanctions against condominium developer Potomac Timber Investments is scheduled to be heard by Judge William H. Shaw III on Thursday, September 4, at 1:30 p.m. in Middlesex Circuit Court.

Also at that time, arguments will be made on the town’s motions to dismiss Potomac Timber Investments’ $4.5 million lawsuit against the Urbanna Town Council.

Potomac Timber, based in Maryland, is asking the Middlesex Circuit Court to overturn actions by council that stopped construction of a proposed 14-unit condominium development at Urbanna Yachting Center on Urbanna Creek.

In addition, four council members who voted against the proposed condominiums—Beatrice Taylor, Janet S. Smith, Megan Brockman and Bill Thrift Jr.—are being sued individually by Potomac Timber.
