Council tables motion to nix position of museum curator

Motions made regarding the Urbanna Museum curator, and use of town owned assets were tabled by the Urbanna Town Council at its November 19 regular monthly meeting.

Council member Marjorie Austin minced no words in making a motion to “eliminate the position of advisory curator” of the Urbanna Museum and Visitor’s Center. Council member George DeVries quickly seconded the motion.

Council member Barbara Hartley argued that eliminating the curator position, which is held by her husband Cloyde Wiley III, would be “ill advised.”
