879 new state laws in effect July 1
The Virginia General Assembly approved 879 new laws in 2009 and the majority of the changes go into effect on Wednesday, July 1.

A bill sponsored by delegate Harvey B. Morgan, HB 1594, adds the Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority to the list of organizations that may receive contributions of taxpayer refunds. The Authority will be added to the bottom of the list of other organizations waiting to appear on the income tax return.
