Two-cent tax increase approved by 3-2 vote
The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 on April 25 to raise the county real estate tax rate by 2 cents. The new rate, 48 cents per $100 of value, will go into effect this year when taxpayers are required to pay half of their real estate tax bill by June 5.

Interim town administrator is a ‘quick learner’
Holly Gailey, who was promoted to interim Urbanna Town Administrator on April 18, said she has an “open door policy” and wants to hear from citizens about their concerns. “If I don’t know about a problem, I can’t fix it,” she said.
